Penyelidikan yang baik bukan bermula dengan tajuk yang menarik semata-mata. Ia bermula dengan keupayaan mengenal pasti masalah sebenar industri, membina objektif yang jelas, merancang metodologi, menyediakan bajet, menyusun pasukan, mengawal tempoh pelaksanaan dan memastikan setiap projek menghasilkan manfaat yang boleh digunakan.

Sepanjang perjalanan penyelidikan saya di UTHM, saya telah mengetuai lima geran sebagai Principal Researcher dengan nilai keseluruhan RM125,053.45. Portfolio ini merangkumi geran antarabangsa, kebangsaan dan universiti dalam bidang pengorekan lestari, pengurusan alam sekitar, penggunaan semula sedimen korekan sebagai bahan pembinaan serta BIM dan pengurusan fasiliti. βœ… mengurus risiko, tempoh serta hasil penyelidikan; dan
βœ… menerjemahkan pengetahuan kepada kerangka keputusan, garis panduan dan penyelesaian berasaskan bukti.

Dengan latar belakang PhD dalam Environmental Research dari Imperial College London serta kepakaran dalam sustainable construction dan research strategy, saya kini membuka ruang kerjasama bersama pihak industri, agensi kerajaan, pihak berkuasa pelabuhan, kontraktor, perunding dan penyedia teknologi. Pihak industri boleh membawa masalah sebenar, tapak, data atau keperluan organisasi. Saya boleh membantu membangunkan:

β€” kajian kebolehlaksanaan dan projek perintis;
β€” kerangka membuat keputusan berasaskan risiko;
β€” penyelesaian pengurusan pengorekan dan sedimen;
β€” penyelidikan berkaitan BIM serta pengurusan fasiliti; dan
β€” pelan penyelidikan yang mempunyai objektif, bajet, garis masa dan hasil yang jelas.

Saya bukan sekadar berminat mendapatkan geran. Saya berminat mengurus geran secara tersusun supaya dana penyelidikan dapat menghasilkan penyelesaian yang bernilai kepada industri dan masyarakat.

FROM INDUSTRY CHALLENGES TO FUNDED RESEARCH AND PRACTICAL SOLUTIONS

Good research does not begin with an attractive title alone. It begins with the ability to identify a real industry challenge, define clear objectives, develop a sound methodology, prepare a realistic budget, coordinate the research team, manage risks and ensure that the project delivers meaningful outcomes.

Throughout my research journey at UTHM, I have led five research grants as Principal Researcher, with a total value of RM125,053.45. My grant portfolio covers international, national and university-funded projects in sustainable dredging, environmental management, beneficial reuse of dredged sediment, Building Information Modelling and facilities management.

These experiences have strengthened my ability to:

βœ… plan project budgets, activities, milestones and deliverables;
βœ… coordinate researchers, data and stakeholders;
βœ… manage project risks, timelines and research outputs; and
βœ… transform research findings into decision-support frameworks, guidelines and evidence-based solutions.

With a PhD in Environmental Research from Imperial College London and expertise in sustainable construction, dredging, sediment management and research strategy, I am open to meaningful collaboration with industry partners, government agencies, port authorities, contractors, consultants and technology providers.

Industry partners may bring real operational challenges, project sites, technical data or organisational needs. Together, we can develop:

β€” joint research and grant proposals;
β€” feasibility studies and pilot projects;
β€” risk-based decision-support frameworks;
β€” sustainable dredging and sediment-management solutions;
β€” BIM and facilities-management research; and
β€” structured research plans with clear objectives, budgets, timelines and deliverables.

My goal is not merely to secure research funding. My priority is to manage every grant systematically so that the investment produces practical, measurable and meaningful value for industry and society.
