Roadmap Lengkap Kontraktor G1

What Comes Next After Successfully Registering as a CIDB G1 Contractor?

Once a company has successfully registered as a CIDB G1 contractor, the next step is to build a strong business foundation so that it can begin securing projects and grow progressively.

1. Complete the Company’s Essential Documents

Ensure the company has the following:

  • SSM registration — Enterprise or Sdn. Bhd.
  • Company bank account
  • Company stamp
  • Company invoices and quotation templates
  • Company profile

2. Appoint Qualified Technical Personnel

If the company has personnel holding an SKKP, or Construction Skills Competency Certificate, it can serve as a recognised technical qualification and greatly support the management and operations of the contracting company.

3. Apply for SPKK and STB, Where Applicable

These certificates are important for companies intending to participate in government projects.

  • SPKK — Government Works Procurement Certificate
  • STB — Bumiputera Status Certificate

With CIDB G1 registration and SPKK, the company may participate in government construction projects within the permitted project value limit.

4. Register with ePerolehan

Register the company with the ePerolehan system to enable participation in relevant government procurement and tender opportunities.

5. Begin with Small-Scale Projects

Suitable projects may include:

  • House renovations
  • Minor civil works
  • Fencing, drainage and landscaping works
  • Building maintenance
  • Painting and refurbishment works

The maximum project value for a G1 contractor is RM200,000 per project.

6. Build and Maintain a Project Track Record

Keep proper records of every completed project, including:

  • Letters of award
  • Contracts
  • Invoices
  • Before-and-after photographs
  • Certificates of completion

These records are important when applying to upgrade the company’s contractor grade to G2, G3 and beyond.

Recommended Growth Pathway

Current Stage
SSM → CIDB G1 → SKKP → SPKK + STB → ePerolehan

Years 1–2
Secure small projects valued between RM20,000 and RM200,000.

Year 3
Apply to upgrade the company to G2 or G3.

Long-Term Goal
Develop the business into an established contracting company capable of undertaking projects worth millions of ringgit.

3. Mohon SPKK dan STB (jika Bumiputera)
Ini penting jika ingin menyertai projek kerajaan.

SPKK = Sijil Perolehan Kerja Kerajaan
STB = Sijil Taraf Bumiputera
